Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" is a bona fide phenom, as underscored once again by this week's Song Revenue Chart; the Eardruma/Interscope artists' #MannequinChallenge-fueled viral monster racked up nearly $300k this week (+10%), remaining #1 by a country mile. "Beatles" streaming revenue outpaced sales by just over $13k.
Republic remains the label monster on the chart, meanwhile, with three of the Top 5 (#2 The Weeknd, #4 Drake and #5 Ariana Grande) and six in the Top 13 (add Hailee Steinfeld & Grey, more Drake and Aminé). The Weeknd's streaming totals will be closely watched as his full-length streets on Black Friday; for now, we note the title track's streaming take is more than twice its download revenue.
Among other noteworthy developments on the chart: two versions of the immortal "Hallelujah," one by recently deceased composer Leonard Cohen (Columbia) and one by RCA's vocal acrobats Pentatonix, land on the chart at #34 and #40, respectively.
Label group marketshare breaks down thusly: UMG 54%, SME 28%, WMG 16%.
